  8.                      AST 486 SYSTEMS AND MICROSOFT EXCEL

  11. PROBLEM:       When running Microsoft Excel version 3.0 with a Postscript
  12.                printer and doing a "Print Preview" in landscape mode with the
  13.                print expanded 150%, the software will generate the following
  14.                error message:
  15.  
  16.                "NON-RECOVERABLE APPLICATION ERROR"
  17.  
  18. SYMPTOM:       All AST 486 based systems experience "NON-RECOVERABLE
  19.                APPLICATION ERRORS" (UAE).  A system reset is required to
  20.                recover from this problem.  The UAE's will not occur while
  21.                printing, only when doing a print preview.

  23. AFFECTED
  24. SYSTEMS:       All AST 486 models.
  25.  
  26. SOLUTION:      This is not a problem that AST can resolve.  Microsoft Windows
  27.                version 3.1 (BETA) has been tested by AST and does not
  28.                experience the same problem.  Customers experiencing the above
  29.                problem should contact Microsoft Product Support at (206) 637-
  30.                7098 for a resolution.
